FREE PATTERN / ILMAINEN OHJE

Jaska Mittens are quick-to-knit stranded mittens with a simple pattern. They are a great choice for your first stranded knitting project!

The mittens are knitted from cuff to tip using five double-pointed needles and feature an afterthought thumb.

The pattern is beginner-friendly and includes clear colorwork charts for sizes S and L.

The mittens use two different types of yarn, which adds contrast and comfort.

Yarn suggestions:

For the cuff: Multi-ply wool yarn

• For example: Vuonue Pentti, Drops Karisma or Lima, Rauma Garn 3-tråds Strikkegarn, Novita 7 Veljestä
• Yardage ~ 100 g = 200 m
• Gauge in ribbing 22–25 sts x 28–30 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 × 4”)
• ~ 15(20) g needed

For the stranded pattern: Two colours of two-ply, loosely spun wool yarn

• For example: Istex Léttlopi
• Yardage ~100 g = 200 m
• Gauge in colorwork 24 sts x 23 rnds = 10 x 10 cm (4 × 4”)
• ~ 30(40) g of each colour = 60(80) g total needed

Besides the suggestions above, any other type of yarn will work as well if it has approximately the same gauge. These mittens are great for using up leftover yarns in your stash!

Jaska-lapaset ovat nopeasti neulottavat kirjoneulelapaset, joiden kuvio on yksinkertainen ilman pitkiä langanjuoksuja ja ohje on helppolukuinen. Ne sopivat vaikkapa ensimmäiseksi kirjoneuleprojektiksi!

Lapaset neulotaan alareunasta kärkeen viidellä sukkapuikolla, ja niissä on aukkopeukalo.

Ohje on tehty aloittelijaystävälliseksi ja siinä on selkeät kirjoneulekaaviot S- ja L-kokoisille lapasille.

• Menekki n. 30(40) g kumpaakin väriä (yhteensä 60(80) g)

Lapasiin sopii toki mikä vaan muukin suunnilleen saman vahvuinen lanka ja niihin saa mukavasti kulutettua kaapeissa pyörivät jämälangat!
