The Jellyfish Socks are inspired by the colors of a photo from Peter Adams, from a Jellyfish in underwater, and I simply fell in love with that color combination. I created a textured design which can reflect my inspiration and also the yarn that I chose for it. The pattern is not hard to proceed, and I explained everything in detail so you won’t need to get assistance from other sources. The pattern includes two socks, a mid calf and shorty ankle socks, and links to videos that I made and can guide you to work the pattern. These socks patterns are suitable for incorporating different kinds of yarn. You can easily choose any variety of yarns like tweeds or speckles or tonals.

MATERIALS

  • Light fingering weight (sock) yarn, ideally a mixture of merino wool or other wool and nylon. The yarn I used is Hedgehog Fibers Sock Yarn (90% merino wool, %10 nylon in approx. 100g and 400m per skein) as below: For the mid calf Jellyfish Socks: 55 (60, 65, 70)g of colorway Jelly (pink and red) as the main color and 3 (3, 3, 4)g of colorway Electric (blue) for the hem of the cuffs. For the Shorty Jellyfish Socks (ankle) 50 (50, 55, 60)g of colorway Electric (blue).

  • US Size 1 / 2.25 mm circular knitting needles or DPNs.

  • 2 tapestry needles, a thinner one for grafting and a thicker one close to your knitting needles size to be working as a cable holder needle.

  • Crochet hook size 2mm/3mm

  • Stitch Markers
