This is an intermediate level pattern, written in US terminology. Pictures, graphics, and videos are also included to help you visually understand the creation process.

Most Woven Tales Designs patterns may challenge you with new ways of seaming pieces, and/or new crochet techniques that you may not have used before regardless of your personal level of experience. The “READ FIRST” sections and emboldened sections are meant to let you know of what to expect in these specific sections. If the pictures do not help with comprehension of the written pattern, please refer to these sections or the video tutorial for a deeper dive into the explanation.

YARN CHOICE: This pattern can be done using any yarn you’d like. My suggestion is that you use a hook size that is at least a half size to one full size down from the recommend hook size from the yarn label. For example: if the yarn label suggests using a 4.5 mm hook, select a 4.00 mm or 3.5 mm hook to achieve the tightness of stitches necessary for an amigurumi project. The yarn used in the cover photo is Yarn Bee Baby Soft and Sleek in Baby Sage, and Yarn Bee Pima Suprima in Gold.

As a crocheter, I do NOT have extremely tight tension for an amigurumi maker. There will be places in the pattern where I suggest you use a looser tension so that the next section/round/row of the pattern is feasible!

Instructions that lie in-between parentheses are meant for those stitches to be done in one singular stitch. For example: (Sc, ch 2, dc) means that you will be working up a single crochet, chain 2, and double crochet all into the next stitch, and NOT spread over two stitches.

FINISHED SIZE NOTES:

Approximate Finished Frog Size – according to yarn weight, from base to tip of crown!

Category 3 (Light) Yarn = 3.5”
Category 4 (Worsted) Yarn = 4.5”
Category 5 (Bulky) Yarn = 7”
Category 6 (Super Bulky) Yarn = 10”
Category 7 (Jumbo) Yarn = 12”

All these are based on yarns that fall generally in those weight categories! Sizes will be varied depending on your personal tension!
