Ju Shi is the fourteenth day of the 2017 Advent calendar: twenty-four patterns, one a day, to learn to count in Chinese.

It is written 十四: the cross of ten, then four, a window with two strokes hanging in it.

This slouchy hat is knitted all in bands: five rounds of reverse stockinette, five rounds of stockinette, above a 4/4 ribbed brim. The crown keeps the bands and draws in in ten spokes up to the top. It is knitted in the round, from the bottom up, in one skein of (Vi)Laines “Tordue Aran”.
