June Dress & Blouse
ABOUT JUNE DRESS & BLOUSE
June Dress & Blouse is worked from the top down on circular needles with raglan increases on the yoke. The lace pattern is very stretchy, so the dress/blouse is worked straight down in the lace pattern without any increases for the body. The dress/blouse is worked to the desired length and then finished with either an elastic bind off for the dress or a regular bind off for the blouse. Both bind offs require simultaneous increases because the lace pattern takes up more space than regular knit stitches. The sleeves are worked in the same way as the body, straight down to the desired length, and then closed off in the same manner as the body of the blouse.
SIZES
1 (2) 3 corresponding to XS/S (M/L) XL/XXL
MEASUREMENTS
Approximate width of dress/blouse: 83 cm (94 cm) 103 cm
SIZE GUIDE
The dress/blouse is very stretchy and can be expanded a lot, which is why there are only three different sizes. It is recommended to choose the size that corresponds to your approximate bust measurement since the dress/blouse should be able to accommodate the hips. If you prefer a looser fit, you can consider going up a size, and if you want it to fit tighter, you can go down a size. In the pictures, Paulina is wearing a size 2. She is 185 cm tall and has a bust measurement of 90. She could also fit a size 1 if she wished to have the dress tighter.
RECOMMENDED NEEDLES
Circular needle 4.5 mm (40, 60, 80, or 100 cm).
GAUGE
14 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm in lace pattern on 4.5 mm circular needles.
MATERIALS
The amount of yarn required is an approximate since the length of the body and sleeves can be determined individually. The yarn quantity for the dress is approximately equivalent to that of a floor-length dress.
Dress: Approx. 300-350 (450-400) 400-450 g of Safran from Drops Design (50 g = approx. 160 m) or another 8/4 cotton yarn.
Blouse: Approx. 200 (250) 250 g of Safran from Drops Design (50 g = approx. 160 m) or another 8/4 cotton yarn.
If you make stripes, you might have to use more yarn depending on how many different colors you choose. The pictures on pages 1 and 4 show the color Coffee (68), and the picture on page 2 shows the colors Camel (21), Marzipan (71), Pistachio (65), and Chalk (72).
