Sometimes, the smallest details make the biggest difference.
Just a Little Scarf is a small, delicate accessory designed to add that final touch to your outfit. It is narrow, lightweight and elegant — just enough to keep your neck warm without feeling bulky.

The two scarves you see in the photos are made from a soft cashmere blend (brown) and pure cashmere (beige).

But this scarf is meant to be made with the yarn you love. Cashmere, merino, alpaca or another soft wool — choose whatever feels beautiful and gentle against your skin, or even use up some of your leftovers.

There is no need to worry about matching the gauge exactly, and you can make your scarf as short or as long as you like. Simply choose a yarn you enjoy wearing and make it your own.

Just a Little Scarf is also a wonderfully simple knit. It is narrow enough to knit up in just a few evenings, making it a perfect little project to pick up when you want something relaxing and rewarding.

And once you have it, I have a feeling you will reach for it again and again on chilly days. A small, refined detail that completes your outfit — and one you may not want to leave home without.

The pattern includes both written instructions and a chart.

NOTE: Because the main body of the scarf is worked in stockinette stitch, with a subtle botanical pattern in the centre and i-cord edges, the edges may gently curl inwards, but the curl will soften a little after washing and blocking. I actually find this little curl really cute and think it suits the character of the scarf.
If you absolutely prefer the edges to lie flat, you can replace the stockinette stitch with garter stitch.
I chose to keep the stockinette stitch on purpose, because I love the clean, delicate look of the fabric and wanted the little botanical pattern in the centre to stand out.

The pattern has been tech edited but not test knitted. If you happen to spot any mistakes while making the scarf, please let me know. As a little thank-you for your help, I’d be happy to gift you another pattern from my collection.

SIZE
Adjustable. The scarves shown in the photos measures approximately 92×7 cm / 36.25x2.75 inches. You can make it as short or as long as you like.

GAUGE
No specific gauge is required. My gauge when using the yarn and needles specified is 22 stitches × 28 rows.

MATERIALS
Yarn you love!
The scarves shown in the photos were made with:

1. Brown: Lana Gatto Cashcot Eco, 50 g / 150 m (50% cashmere, 50% cotton). You will need approximately 30 g to make a scarf the same length as the one shown in the photos.
2. Beige: Cariaggi Piuma Cashmere, 50 g / 160 m. You will need approximately 30 g for the same length.

If you would like to make a longer scarf, you will need more yarn.
