Kaldakvísl
Kaldakvísl is a classic icelandic lopi sweater with a simple but elegant geometric pattern worked with one or two colours at a time. The yoke of the base design is designed to be long and oversized, so the underarm is quite low. However, if you wish to reduce the length of the yoke to instead make a classic depth of the yoke you can follow chart D, found at the end of the pattern, instead of chart A for a yoke that will measure 22.5 cm, measured from the end of the ribbing at the neckline. This option is noted in the pattern along the way. To know which yoke would suit you better, measure yourself before starting the pattern. The sleeves and body are on the longer side as well, but you can choose to make them shorter, just note that changing the length will affect how much yarn you need.
Sizes: A B, C, D E, F, G H, I, J with corresponding chest circumference of 86 94, 103, 111 124, 133, 141 146, 159, 171 cm. A positive ease of 10-15 cm is recommended.
Length of body from underarm: 38 40, 42, 44 46, 48, 50 51, 52, 52 cm
Length of sleeves from underarm: 43 44, 44, 45 47, 48, 49 49, 50, 50 cm
Upper sleeve circumference: 30 33, 33, 36 38, 39, 42 46, 49, 51
Neckline circumference: 40 41.25, 43.75, 45 46.25, 48.75, 52.5 56.25, 60, 62.5 cm
Yoke depth in front: 26.5 cm for all sizes, or 22.5 if working shorter yoke version, measured from the lower edge of the neckribbing.
Yarn needed approximately (note that this is for plötulopi held double total yarn needed, if using other yarn held single then you only need about half of the given amount):
