When I started working on my first sample for the Koselig Cowl I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Am I really going to do this? Then I realised that knitting, and designing is what I love, it is what I’m dreaming of.

The Koselig Cowl was born out of a need for something warm and cozy when I ride my bike in the early mornings. Using a DK/worsted weight yarn and stranded colorwork this cowl makes a warm and cozy fabric that will keep you nice and toasty all the time.

YARN
2 skeins of worsted weight yarn, you will use approximately 70 grams/150 yards (164 m) per color.
Sample uses Malabrigo Rios in the colors Aqua and Ivory 100 grams/210 yards (229 m)

NEEDLES (SUGGESTED SIZES)
Size A needles for ribbing: US 6 (4.0mm). These needles should be 1 or 2 sizes smaller than your main fabric needles with a 16 “ (40 cm) cable.
Size B needles for main fabric: US 8 (5.0 mm). Please make a gauge swatch so you are sure about your needles size with a 16” (40 cm) cable.

NOTIONS
Stitch markers, darning needle, scissors.

GAUGE
22 stitches and 26 rounds over 4” (10 cm) after blocking in colorwork using main fabric needles ( needles size B).
When checking for gauge please knit as to how the pattern is designed. For example, if the pattern is knit in the round you want to make your gauge swatch knit in the round as well.

SIZE
This cowl measures 19 ¼“ (49 cm) in circumference by 13 ¼ “ (33,5 cm) high.
The size is customizable but keep in mind that yardage requirements will change.
