Located in the heart of the Kelowna Cultural District, the Laurel Packinghouse is the oldest and largest packinghouse of its kind in British Columbia. Built in the early 1900s from bricks made from Knox Mountain clay, the packinghouse remained in operation until the 1970s. Today, the Laurel is a dedicated heritage site and event space.

Laurel is an asymmetrical, triangle shawl, knit tip to end.

MATERIALS

Yarn/Yardage: dk weight yarn. Approx. 250y (115g) for Colour A, and 400y (185g) for Colour B.

Sample: shown in Boss Lady Yarn Co. Director’s DK (100% merino; plied; 250y/115g), using Nail Tech’s File (Colour A), and Sailor’s Delight (Colour B).

Needles: 4.5mm (US 7) 40” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Notions: stitch markers, darning needle.

GAUGE

18 st over 4” / 10cm in garter stitch, after blocking.

A different gauge will affect finished measurements and yardage requirements.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

72” / 180cm across by 22” / 55cm deep, after blocking.
