Soft and drapey, the Lido Winter Wrap is easy to knit with no increases, decreases, or seaming, and with two yarns held together throughout. Written for one size, the wrap can easily be made wider by working the first panel longer. It is the knitter’s choice to use a monochrome palate or to select a contrasting color when working the lace-weight option with two strands held together.

Gauge is not critical, providing that the first long panel is approximately 10” wide and at least 56” long. The gauge for the model as shown was measured with the two specified yarns double-stranded. A heavier weight yarn, single-stranded, would also make a lovely variation.

The Fibre Company’s “Road to China” Lace (65% Alpaca, 15% Silk, 10% Cashmere, 10% Camel) paired with Shibui Knit’s light fingering weight “Pebble” (48% Silk, 36% Merino, 16% Cashmere) provide a soft, luxurious fabric with a lovely hand. Two skeins of Road to China Lace are required, although when knit to measurement about 50 gram will remain. Five skeins of Pebble in a single color are sufficient for working a solid color throughout. If knitting the panels in two colors, one would need three skeins of Color A and two skeins of Color B.

Experiment with yarn weights and color combinations, and enjoy!
