Lien Vest is a dropped shoulder vest. The decorative cabled hem with a charming buttoned back holds snugly your waist, while the body has a roomy fit. The neck and the armholes are finished with cable motif bands mirroring the hem and they are folded double, which gives you extra warmth and coziness.
It can be easily coordinated with any of your outfits and can be elegant with skirts or casual with trousers. I hope you enjoy it in your own style.

It is worked from the bottom up back and forth, starting with twisted cable ribbing. The button bands of the hem are joined then the body is worked in the round upwards to the underarms where the body is divided into the back and the front. They are worked back and forth upwards to the shoulders which are shaped with short rows while the neckline is shaped at the same time. The shoulders are joined using 3-needle bind-off. Lastly, stitches are picked up around the neckline and armholes and the bands are worked in the round in twisted cable ribbing and folded double.

Needles
4 mm / US 6, 80 or 100 cm / 32 or 40 inches circular needles for body.
3.5 mm / US 4, 60 or 80 cm / 24 or 32 inches circular needles for hem, neckband and armhole bands.
Another spare 4 mm / US 6 needle for joining the buttonbands and 3-needle bind off.
Needles for neckband and armhole bands should be two sizes smaller than those for the body.

Gauge
23 sts and 31 rows = 10 cm / approx. 4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking, on 4 mm / US 6 needles
30 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm / approx. 4 inches in twisted cable rib after blocking, on 3.5 mm / US 4 needles
Make sure to achieve the gauge by adjusting needle size if necessary.

はじめにTwisted cable ribでボタンバンドも同時にボトムアップの往復編みで編んでいきます. ボタンバンドを接合した後, 身頃を輪編みで脇下まで編み, 後ろ身頃と前身頃に分けます. それぞれ往復編みで肩まで編み, ネックラインを形成しながらショートロウで肩を形成します. 肩は3-needle bind off で閉じます. 最後にネックラインと袖ぐりの目を拾い, 輪でTwisted cable ribを編み, 伏せ目をした後, 二重に折り返して仕上げます.
