LILJA
Anna Gisladóttir (1906 1993) from Saurbær in Vatnsdalur knited these simple but stylish mittens, which were donated to the Textile Museum in 2002. They are knitted in black wool as the main color with a white contrasting wool for the stripes in the cuff and the dots in the main body of the mittens. They are relatively simple to knit, but were chosen for this book because they’re a great exercise in using a dominant color in a one-stitch pattern sequence.
