Long Island Girl sweater for a doll is a sleeve-to-sleeve design. It will fit an 18 inch/46 cm doll. The sample was made out of Bernat Baby Blanket Tiny yarn, which is aran weight. I believe any yarn that meets the gauge would work. It is worked in two pieces that are seamed together.
The sweater was made as a matching sweater for Long Island Girl sweater for kids (pattern available in my Raverly Store) and is included as a free gift into Long Island Girl pattern.
Skill level: Advanced Beginner.
Skills required: provisional cast-on, increasing and decreasing stitches, short rows, seaming.
Yarn: Bernat Baby Blanket Tiny (3.5oz/100g, 316 yds/288m, 100% Polyester).
Yardage: 28g/ 80 meters/ 90 yards of Bernat Baby Blanket Tiny yarn.
Gauge: 18 stitches and 29 rows = 4” (10cm) in Stockinette Stitch.
Other materials: straight or circular #6 (4mm) needles or needles to obtain correct gauge, stitch marker, row counter (optional, but really helps to keep track of rows, as this yarn is hard to read stitches), spare yarn for provisional cast on, crochet hook (6.5mm), 2 stitch holders, tapestry needle, a few sewing pins.
