Lova
Here is a small project with lots of possibilities! A band of pretty lace with tidy edges, it can be a headband, belt, bracelet, or bookmark depending on the yarn and needles used.
The knitting is simple enough for a beginner and the project is perfectly suited to use up leftover yarn from your stash.
You can use any weight of yarn!
Most headband and ear warmer projects take between 20-30 yards (18-28 m) of yarn, regardless of yarn weight.
There are three options for joining the ends of the headband together into a loop (sewing, grafting, or 3-needle bind off). All three methods are demonstrated in videos on the Chicory Sticks website.
Additional tutorials and video demonstrations are provided for:
- Adding beads
- Slipped selvage stitches
The pattern is given in both written and charted instructions.
Lova is the Swedish verb for making a promise, so in addition to resembling our English “love”, it is a promise to cherish and celebrate every stage of my daughter’s childhood.
