This pattern has a FREE matching baby blanket - the Astrophil Blanket

Astrophil is a worsted-weight hat with dense, star-like texture made from a traditional cabling motif that is very simple to work. Indeed, most of the rounds in this pattern are “knit all”! The resulting fabric has a lot of stretch so that each size will cover a large range of heads. Tips for modifying these sizes are given in the pattern. Add a fun pom pom at the end or simply enjoy the way the cables come together neatly at the top.

Features

  • both charted and written instructions

  • direct links to photo and video tutorials for the techniques used

  • detailed information on how to adjust the size

“When not fully stretched out, this cable pattern resembles many interlinking stars. The name ‘Astrophil’ comes from Sir Philip Sidney’s (1554-1586) sonnet sequence Astrophel and Stella. As you’re clever enough to deduce “Astrophil” breaks down into ‘star-lover’ (Greek ‘aster’+’phil’) and “Stella” is the latin for ‘star’.”
