The Luna Hoodie is an INTERMEDIATE tapestry crochet hooded sweater pattern inspired by the luna moth, or American moon moth. This project is perfect for frolicking in the woods, picnics, or just hangin’ around!

This garment is constructed with four tapestry panels seamed together and a hood seamed to the neckline. The hood has a working drawstring.

The pattern includes a size guide, color planning worksheet, look book, tapestry crochet photo tutorials, tapestry graphs (with links to Stitch Fiddle), fully written instructions, photos for key moments, construction guide, and finishing options.

Sizing & Measurements

This pattern has been designed in three base sizes with alterations written throughout each pattern that, when combined, allow for a size range of Women’s 5X-S and Men’s 2X-XS. The fit of this garment is customizable via waistline, sleeve, cuff, and hood alterations.

The three base patterns are: Adult Large (Women’s 5X-3X, Men’s 2X-L), Adult Medium (Women’s 4X-XL, Men’s L-S), and Adult Small (Women’s XL-S, Men’s XS).

The measurements below are organized Large (Medium, Small). All measurements are recorded in inches. A size chart and diagram are included in the product photos.

Center to Cuff: 32-34 (30, 27)
Wrist Circumference (w/o Cuff): 9-12 (10, 9)
Shoulder to Waistline: 25 (24, 20.5)
Waist Circumference 50-68 (36-58, 32-52)
“Bust”: 96 (72, 66)
Shoulder to Tail Tip: 46 (44, 40)
Note: “Bust” is put in quotes due to the nature of the pattern. The wing shape leads to a very roomy bust space. If the bust measurement is significantly larger than your own measurement, that is by design and expected.

Materials

YARN: Worsted Weight (#4) - approximate amounts in yards for each color (standard Luna Moth colors) below for the Large (Medium, Small):

• Green: 1440 (1110, 790)
• Yellow: 360 (300, 250)
• White: 270 (250, 220)
• Brown: 240 (210, 180)
• Black: 90 (all)
• Red: 90 (all)

HOOK:

• Tapestry Panel Hook: 6.0 m crochet hook or the hook you need to meet gauge
• Cuff Hook: 5.5 or 5.0 mm crochet hook (or 0.5 to 1.0 mm smaller than your tapestry panel hook)
• Cord Hook: 3.75 mm crochet hook or other smaller hook of choice

• Scissors
• 6+ Stitch Markers
