Maahinen is a member of the Earth people in the old Finnish mythology. They live underground and cause us all sort of mischief especially if they are insulted. They also switch their own babies to human babies. The changelings have hidden talents. The maidens of the Earth people are famous for their beauty, and especially in Lapland many men herding the reindeer have married a lovely Maahinen maiden…

The design of this super light moebius lace shrug is part of a knitting kit, made in collaboration with Renaissance Dyeing. Together with other knit designs from 4 different designers world-wide, this shrug was presented during the London Knitnation 29-31 July 2010.

This pattern is available now either
