I learnt to knit in school, but my grandmother taught me to enjoy it and to be creative. I dye wool yearn with natural dye stuff: leaves, bark, mushrooms, etc. Then I knit things with the self-dyed yarn. Mostly sweaters, but lately I’ve been making other things as well. And in-between bigger projects I knit socks, mittons, scarfs etc.

I’ve been making my own designs for a long time. The first one was a steeked fair isle sweater with very poor-quality acrylic yarn. However, I never wrote the designs into patterns until lately. Colours are the main inspiration to me when making my designs.
