About Mainstay

With its crisp stitches and undulating cables, Mainstay epitomises Autumn knitting. When your hands are longing for a smaller project, this hat is sure to satisfy while welcoming the changing of the seasons with every stitch. Knit in Raincloud & Sage’s Nord held double, it captures cosy evenings knitting by the fire, followed by crisp morning walks through rustling leaves. The rope-like cables twist and flow from the brim to the crown, creating the ideal cold-weather wardrobe staple.

Please note: As of November 2020, this pattern has been updated! Raincloud & Sage retired the base we originally used for the design - Homestead - so we reworked the pattern for one of their other bases, Nord. Nord held double works up at the exact same gauge as Homestead and creates the coziest hat!

We also took the opportunity to rework a few things in the pattern based on your feedback: We added a little more length to the body and changed the crown decreases for a better fit.
