Maja Beanie is knitted bottom up using a DK weight yarn. The brim is knitted in twisted stitches and can be folded double or triple depending on choice. The body and crown of the beanie has a childhood memory inspired bobble, cable and twisted stitch pattern which remind of building a tent out of pine needle tree branches in the woods.

Maja Beanie was published in Taito Magazine 2/23.

Maja-pipo on neulottu alhaalta ylös DK-vahvuisella langalla. Reunuksessa on kierettyä joustinneuletta ja on käännettävissä joko kaksin- tai kolminkertaiseksi. Keskiosaa ja päälakea koristavat palmikko-, nyppy- sekä joustinenulekuviot, jotka muistuttavat lapsuudenmuistojen havumajoja että -metsiä.

The finished beanie has a circumference of 38 (46) cm / 15 (18) inches and is worn with negative ease of 14–18 cm / 5.5–7”. This hat stretchy, and will fit a range of head sizes.

The beanie is to fit head circumference 52–57 (58–62) cm / 20.50–22.50 (22.75–24.50) inches.

Green version with double folded brim:
1 (1) skein of WillaWanttuut Pentti (70% Finnsheep wool, 30% tencel, 240 m / 262 yds per 100 g) in the colourway Misteli or approximately 180–210 m / 197–229 of DK weight yarn or

Brown sample with triple folded brim:
2 (2) skein of West Wool Tandem (100% South American Merino Wool, 233 m / 254 yds per 100 g) in the colourway Chestnut or approximately 240–280 m / 262–306 of DK weight yarn

Needles:
3 mm / US 2.5 circular needles with cable length of Ø 80 cm / 32” for ribbing
3.25 mm / US 3 circular needles with cable length of Ø 80 cm / 32” for the body and crown
Remember to always use a needle size that get you to the gauge.
