Wonderful Marilyn Monroe and her beautiful, feminine figure. The knitwear she wore was always small, bodyhugging, sexy and soft. Her sensual way of moving and dressing was truly unique. Marilyn, Norma Jeane Baker, was the icon of my youth. I had pictures of her on my walls, and the memory of her inspired me to design this petite and cute sweater that celebrates femininity.

The Marilyn sweater is worked top-down and includes German short rows at the back neck for a better fit. The chosen yarn is perfect for this: it adds a light halo and luxurious softness. The ribbing is finished with a striking Italian bind-off. Wear your Marilyn sweater to a party or for everyday life, wear it just for yourself or to turn heads — imagine how lovely it would be in red or black. I might have to cast on a second one immediately.

SIZES XS (S, M, L) (XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL)
The sample is shown in size S (model bust 88 cm / 34.5 in).
Recommended ease: approx. 3 cm / 1.25 in.

YARN
Fonty Coeur d’Angora (80 % French traced Angora, 20 % merino - 108 m / 25 g). Sample color: 211
5 (5, 6, 6) (7, 7, 8, 8) balls

3 (4, 4, 5) (5, 6, 6, 7) balls

Note: I recommend using a fluffy yarn so that the increase rounds blend into the fabric. If you use a smooth yarn, the increases will show as fan-like lines in the yoke.

NEEDLES
4 mm circular needle, 80 cm / 31.5 in cable (US 6) for the body,
4 mm circular needle, 40 cm / 16 in cable (US 6) for neckline and sleeves (or use a long cable and the Magic Loop technique if you prefer),
3 mm circular needle, 80 cm / 31.5 in cable (US 2%) for the body ribbing,
3 mm circular needle, 40 cm / 16 in cable (US 2%) for the neck ribbing and
- 3 mm double-pointed needles (US 2%) for the sleeve cuffs (or use a long cable and Magic Loop, if you prefer).
