Martna shawl
This PDF file contains “Martna triangular shawl” charts and full instructions for knitting this one-piece bottom-up shawl, guidance of the process, assembly and finishing of the shawl. The file does contain written instructions for the patterns.
The main body and edge lace patterns can be used for any other type of shawl knitting.
Martna shawl pattern is inspired by Martna parish (Estonia) traditional sleeve cuff embroidery on the border and by four-leaved clovers on the centre. The shawl can be used in the form of a shawl, a pashmina or a scarf.
For the shawl a cobweb-weight yarn is recommended (1400-1500m/100g, 1530-1640 yds/100g) with a needle size 3mm for the main body and 6mm for the cast-on. The file contains a knitting needle size conversion chart for metric/US/UK/JPN needles. Approximate size (depending on the knitting tension an needle size) 115cmx115cm, height 82cm, diagonal 162cm
