This cowl is so much fun to knit! It begins with a twisted rib that looks like a cable, but doesn’t require a cable needle. Then you transition to the “Mermaid Scales” stitch and a few inches after that, the “Little Seashells” stitch, then back again. You’ll never be bored as the next section is always just a few inches away. Stitches are easy to learn; you get into a rhythm and cruise along.

This cowl is a great showcase for that skein of sock/ fingering yarn that you bought because it was too beautiful to pass up. Looks fantastic with tonals, speckles, or handpaints of any kind, but the stitches create enough visual interest to look good with a plain ol’ solid, too.
