Merry Crowns
Want to use your crochet skills to add a personal, handmade touch to any celebration? Try this pattern for Merry Crochet Crowns!
About the crowns:
These crochet crowns are an ideal alternative to the ill-fitting, easily-breakable, single-use paper crowns you often find in crackers. They are so much fun to wear and have been designed to be reused for many years.
With sizes to comfortably fit every person, from new baby to XL adults, they are a great way to bring families and friends together in celebration. These crowns can easily be customised to make them unique and personal to the wearer.
About the pattern:
As one of my testers said: “I found the pattern beautifully laid out, easy to follow and before long I didn’t need to refer to it at all, which is always a bonus.”
The ‘Merry Crochet Crowns’ pattern is suitable for intermediate beginners (beginner-friendly) and includes plenty of photographs, comprehensive guidance notes and tips to help you.
It is written in US terms but includes a conversion chart to UK terms, along with abbreviation reminders on each page.
I recommend using a 6mm/J crochet hook and Chunky yarn (category 5) but this pattern also works well with Aran yarn or 3 strands of DK yarn held together.
These crowns are a super quick make, taking around an hour or less to make each crown, depending on your experience.
This pattern has been thoroughly tested by a team of crocheters. You can view their wonderful work on my Instagram page in the ‘Crowns’ highlight.
You will need to know (or be able to learn) how to: slipknot, chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, create front loop only stitches and work in the round. There are stitch tutorials for most of these skills in my Instagram ‘Tutorials’ highlight @hook.and.happy, if you need a reminder.
This pattern teaches you how to: start with a neat edge, join each round, create crochet crowns in 9 different sizes, finish off with an invisible join and use running stitches to personalise your crowns.
Digital Download details:
