Microglia are one of the main cell types in the central nervous system. They work for the neurons, with different shapes for different tasks. When they have a small, round bodies with long processes that extend around them, they are supposed to be resting, but they are actually on surveillance duty, as they are the brain cops! Moreover, in their free time they have a side gig running a hair salon for neurons who need their dendrites pruned. When resting microglia detect a baddie, they pull in all their processes and get ready for battle, with a more amoeboid shape. However, they are not only the fighters of the brain, but also the cleaners, eating all the debris of the battle. Surely any biologist or neuroscientist will love these giant, cute microglial cells!

The PDF includes step-by-step written instructions, visual references and photo-tutorials to help you, and it is available in English and Spanish.
