Inspired by Nancy Drew: Midnight in Salem, these socks are designed with 4 colorwork motifs themed to Halloween and autumn: jack-o-lanterns, moonlit tombstones, teacups, and lanterns. They are knit using a main color and 4 contrasting colors, with 4 charts and instructions for which charts are used when and with which sizes.

These are knit from the top down with a heel flap and gusset. The heel flap is knit using a slip stitch pattern for more reinforcement. I’ve written this to be knit using magic loop, but you could just as easily use double pointed needles if you like.

Available in 7 sizes, these socks can fit feet with a circumference of 5 (5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8, 9, 10)“ when meeting gauge, and a leg length of about 4 inches. The leg length can be adjusted by removing colorwork motifs, if you’d like, especially for the smaller sizes. The foot length, of course, is adjustable as well.
