Inspired by Nancy Drew: Mystery of the Seven Keys, these socks are designed with a colorwork motif of seven different keys around the leg, and 2 colorwork options for the foot.

They are knit from the top down with a heel flap and gusset. The heel flap is knit using the eye of partridge stitch for more reinforcement. I’ve written this to be knit using magic loop, but you could just as easily use double pointed needles if you like. The background color is the main color (MC), while the colorwork motifs, heel, and toe are all knit using the contrast color (CC). There are 4 charts, with Chart A being for the leg of the right sock, and Chart B being for the left. Charts C and D are for different options for the foot of the sock.

For yarn, you need about 140-200 yards of each color of sock yarn. I used Cascade Heritage Sock, but I’ve also used Patons Kroy before if you need a more affordable option.

This pattern currently only includes 1 size, but should be adjustable by changing needle size. However, I do plan on adding more sizes in the future.
