This subtly scalloped scarf looks clever and elegant, but is extremely easy to make.

Like all minimal knits | DESIGNED scarves MK#12 drapes beautifully, can be worn in all sorts of ways and is quick to knit because it uses needles larger than is usual for the yarn. A boomerang shape with eyelet edges, it has the effect of being knitted on the bias.

In case you’d like to add a tiny bit of bling, the subtly scalloped scarf pattern includes extremely easy instructions for setting beads into the knitting on two edges (not the edge that normally is closest to the neck), but of course using beads is entirely optional.

The bright pink scarf was made from a 100g skein of Bombed Yarns 4ply sock yarn in the colour Disco Night containing 472 metres - 516 yards. It measures 80 cm / 31½ inches, by 120 cm / 47¼ inches, by 172 cm / 67¾ inches after some very gentle steam blocking.

The beaded scarf was made from two 25g balls of Drops Kid-Silk 4ply in the colour Pearl Grey containing 420 metres / 460 yards. It measures 84 cm / 33 inches, by 148 cm / 52 inches, by 200 cm / 78¾ inches, without blocking.

Skill Level Easy… even though it might include a technique you haven’t used before, the pattern contains simple, straightforward instructions and notes on where to look for more information.
