This simply stripy scarf is made with 4ply/fingering yarn, either two different sorts of yarn, or two different coloured yarns, or any sort of combination you like.

Like all minimal knits | DESIGNED scarves MK#15 drapes beautifully and is quick to knit because it uses needles larger than is usual for the yarn. A boomerang shape with eyelet edges, it has the effect of being knitted on the bias.

I usually prefer scarves that look the same on both sides, so I was very surprised at how pretty the “wrong” side looks when alternating a mohair blend yarn with a normal type of yarn.

The sample scarf was made from one 25g ball of Drops Kidsilk in the colour Apple Green and two 50g balls of Drops Baby Alpaca Silk in the colour Pistachio (but a fair amount of the 2nd ball was left over) and measures 168 cm / 66¼ inches, by 142 cm / 56 inches, by 80 cm / 31½ inches without blocking.

Materials
The yarns used for the sample knit were labelled as having 210 metres - 230 yards, for the Kidsilk, and 167 metres - 183 yards, for the Baby Alpaca Silk.
I suggest choosing two yarns that each total approximately 210 - 220 metres / 230 – 241 yards.
(Please note that the eyelet edges may curl a little, so you may like to do some gentle steam blocking.)

Gauge
Doesn’t matter unless you knit very tightly or very loosely, in which case go up or down a needle size, as applicable
