This is my own crochet pattern for a simple crocheted handbag with textured bands and a button closure. It’s is easy to make and produces a wonderfully retro handbag. These bags make great handmade gifts.

This pattern has written instructions and photos of important stages to keep you on track. It is designed for 8-ply cotton/acrylic blend yarn and is easy to adapt to your specific needs. The variegated Monet yarn gives a pretty effect but plain colours would also work nicely to highlight the stitch pattern. The choice of button can also make a big impact. The pattern doesn’t describe a lining but you could easily add one.
