Styling

A classic jacket, very warm, with a close weave that provides resistance to frost and winds. Casually styled to suit both boys and girls, comfortable for either indoor or outdoor romping and play. The loose fit for children can accommodate extra layers underneath. Also sized for babies with less ease.

Note. Alteration instructions allow the pattern to be easily adjusted to suit the maker’s personal gauge.

Construction

Worked from the top downwards without seams in an easy crochet moss stitch, beginning at the back of the collar. The shoulders and sleeves are shaped down the centre for a comfortable fit. Presents a good showpiece for variegated yarns because of its smooth fabric. Alternatively, textured stitches may be used with a plain yarn.

Features

Nautical collar. Straight body profile, with optional waist shaping. Sloped shoulders, tapered raglan sleeves, adjustable hem length, front edges that meet at the centre to suit toggle closure.
