Test knitter’s average time to knit Mother Fall = 3 hours!

Everyone has their happy place. Mine is spending time imaging that my dolls are actually Wee Folk who wear hats that help them remain hidden from view. It is a nice escape for me when I’m doing the dishes or just need a break from being a serious adult. I hope that my designs bring you joy and that you love how stress-free they are.

To make a knit peg doll, you’ll need:

  • One 12mm wooden bead for the head
  • One pipe cleaner for the body
  • Scrap yarn
  • A set of dpns
  • One free evening

Seamless Construction

  • A body, knit in the round from skirt hem to hat top.
  • Arms, (one I-cord) knit in one piece and slid into position through arm hole.
  • Wooden bead head, that stays in place with a pipe cleaner.
  • Yarn hair, added with a tapestry needle.
  • A hollow inside, meaning minimal ends to weave in. Just push the ends through as you go!

Given the little amount of yarn needed for the dolls, I think this is a great, scrappy project. I use worsted as it makes the dolls nice and sturdy and allows them to stand independently. For tight knitters I recommend using fingering or sport yarn.

A BIG thanks to all my wonderful test knitters!
