Mr. FatRat
This Mr. FatRat can be anything! Keychain, bag charm, desk buddy and just a cute plushie. I LOVE THIS RAT. It is a quick and funny knitting pattern for everyone because everyone need a cute rat friend!
Rat is knitted in the round. The knitting starts at the nose. Then you will shape the neck using short rows and knit the body. Next, using half of the stitches, you will form one leg and then the second leg. The arms, tail, and ears are knitted in the round separately and then sewn to the body. Sweater is knitted in the round with raglan increases.
Skill level: advanced beginner / intermediate.
Materials:
- 2.5 mm (US 1½) double-pointed needles (DPNs) set of 5,
- 2.0 mm (US 0) double-pointed needles (DPNs) set of 5, for ribbing on the sweater,
- approximately 70-90 m of fingering-weight yarn of main colour. I used a Drops Alpaca in colour 100 (50g = 167 m / 183 yds), and scraps in colour pink for legs, arms and tail, I used a Drops Nord in colour uni 21 (50g = 170 m / 186 yds), same fingering-weight yarn for the sweater, I used a Drops Alpaca in colour 7895 (50g = 167 m / 183 yds),

If you would like to make a larger rat, simply use larger needles (and heavier yarn). Please note that the sweater should be knitted with yarn of the same weight as the rat.
