I made this blanket for my sister for Christmas. I’m stuck on squares/tiles designs lately lol. So much nicer to make in these looong Texas summers!

I used 34.1 skeins of Caron Simply Soft Party Yarn, specifically 15.1 skeins of the Dark Sage Sparkle (# 0029) and 19 of the Teal Sparkle (# 0004). So, a total of 5,592 yards, or 2,895 grams. The finished size was about 72” square, or 6 ft x 6 ft, or 1.83 m x 1.83 m. I used a 4.5mm hook for almost all the work, and a 5mm hook to seam the squares.

I wish I did this pattern in black and white instead! I hope someone makes it like that one day. It gives off such an elegant vibe and I think black and white would do it justice.

This new pattern is more a record of what actions I have performed to make this blanket, and hopefully adequate to reproduce it yourself should you wish. I did not use testers or tech editors. You might need to search for and watch an overlay mosaic crochet tutorial on YouTube first if you’ve never used that technique before. This pattern could be done by an adventurous beginner, as long as you know the anatomy of stitches and the types of stitches listed below.

My apologies go out to the more visually inclined as I will not be providing charts along with the written pattern. In the making of this blanket, I did not draw up many of the figures in it, and therefore don’t have them for you to reference, either.
