The Netta Top is a delicate piece featuring a leaf lace motif. It can be worn on its own or as a layering piece.
The top is designed to be knitted in either a mohair/silk yarn held double or a DK-weight yarn held single.
The pattern also includes instructions for adjusting the length and armhole depth to suit your preference.

Construction:

The Netta Top is knitted seamlessly from the bottom up. The body is worked in the round to the underarms, then the front and back are worked flat separately. Both sections are then joined again to shape the shoulders. The neckline is finished with an I-cord.

Skill Level: Intermediate

The pattern includes lace knitting, different types of decreases, working flat and in the round, German short rows, and an I-cord bind-off.
There are video tutorials to help you with new stitches and techniques, and all charts are accompanied by written instructions.

Sizes: The pattern includes 6 sizes, designed to fit the following bust circumferences:

Size 1: 77–85 cm (30¼–33½ inch)
Size 2: 85–93 cm (33½–36½ inch)
Size 3: 93–100 cm (36½–39¼ inch)
Size 4: 100–107 cm (39¼–42 inch)
Size 5: 108–115 cm (42½–45¼ inch)
Size 6: 115–122 cm (45¼–48 inch)

The top is designed to have approximately +1 to –7 cm (+½ to –2¾ inch) of ease. For a layering piece with a more vest-like fit, choose a size that gives you 2–8 cm (¾–3¼ inch) of positive ease.

Option 1 – mohair/silk held double:

The grey top is knitted using Lamana Premia (60% mohair, 40% silk; 300 m / 328 yds per 25 g), held double. A kid mohair/silk yarn with approximately 210 m / 230 yds per 25 g can also be used.

Size 1: 680 m / 744 yds
Size 2: 785 m / 858 yds
Size 3: 893 m / 977 yds
Size 4: 1050 m / 1148 yds
Size 5: 1160 m / 1269 yds

Option 2 – DK yarn, using a single strand:

The green top is knitted using Lamana Cosma (60% cotton, 40% modal; 100 m / 109 yds per 50 g).

Yarn consumption:
Size 1: 400 m / 437 yds
Size 2: 462 m / 505 yds
Size 3: 525 m / 574 yds
Size 4: 590 m / 645 yds
Size 5: 682 m / 746 yds
Size 6: 767 m / 839 yds

For either option, additional yarn is required if you choose to lengthen the body or deepen the armholes.

Needles and notions:

• 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles, 60 cm (23½ inch) cable – for the body.
• 4.5 mm (US 7) and 4 mm (US 6) circular needles, 40 cm (15¾ inch) cable – for the shoulders and neckline.
• Stitch markers, crochet hook.

Gauge:

Stockinette stitch: 18 sts × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 inch) on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles.
Lace pattern: approximately 21 sts × 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 inch) on 4.5 mm (US 7) needles.

The lace pattern gauge can be difficult to measure accurately, so a stockinette swatch is recommended.
