This trio of cuddly owls are knitted predominantly in stockinette stitch, with garter stitch eyes, wings and beaks.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the owls are knitted on single pointed needles (not in the round). The owls photographed were knitted in acrylic 4 ply yarns, although you can use DK (double knitting/light worsted) if you prefer. There is no tricky colour-work to master here, as the eyes and beaks are knitted separately and sewn on.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3mm single pointed knitting needles (US 2.5)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and small buttons for eyes.

SIZES
One size only - 8cm and 14cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
