Pancakes or waffles? The terminal questions… For me? I’d rather eat a waffle, but I love the look of pancakes. So why not make you and me hungry forever by having a pancake stare at you all day. (Mine makes me so hungry!)

All my patterns assume a basic knowledge of crochet techniques, and any special stiches used will be explained as needed. This pattern is: Beginner Level. The includes techniques like applique, easy free-from crochet principles, and using invisible decrease stiches. The size of this project is modular, so you can make it as big or as small as you want.

For yarn choice, pick the two or three colors, all in the same weight, which represent the cooked sides, the slightly more cooked edges, and the pale pancake interior. Extra colors include a syrup color, and a little yellow for a square of butter.

If using Yarn Bee, and planning on making a pillow the size of the one seen in the photos, you’ll need two skeins of the main pancake color, and a significant amount of one whole skein to make a large piece of syrup, I tried making two with one, and obviously ran out. I caution you not to make the same mistake.

A smaller amounts of yarn are needed for the pale pancake innards, the crispy edges, and the butter, but it’s great to use scrap yarns for these portions!

Happy crafting!
