In 2020, when I purchased a sampling of each colour then available in a new (then) range of King Cole’s FOREST ARAN, I longed to try the yarn out & use the colours together in a design. I purchased 1 ball of each colour (2 of the joining/border colour) available at the time & they are all included in this design.
Fast forward (or slow, depending on your viewpoint) to 2023 & the design was finally documented to my satisfaction. I am thrilled to be able to present this pattern to you, & very encouraged by all who have seen it prior to it’s release, tested the squares for me, & commented so very enthusiastically.
Nothing in this design is overly complicated, but a working knowledge of basic crochet stitches is assumed. An adventurous beginner needn’t fear this pattern is too difficult for them.
ORDER for WORKING
Crochet squares. Join squares into strips. Join strips togethe into throw, before working a simple border around the edges. Could easily be modified to use a ‘join as you go’ method if desired, but no instructions are included for that.
OTHER INFO & PATTERN FORMAT:
Full directions with accompanying photos & tutorial links are given. I guide you all the way - you do not have to figure out colour placement or yarn useage. It’s all done for you. You can easily substitute yarn/colours if you want to, based on the info given in the pattern .
And* … guess what else? All squares are crocheted exactly the same. It’s the colour changes & the placement of the squares, that contribute to the unique look of this design.
A BONUS inclusion, are modification guidelines, if you want to interpret this design your own way. Take a look at the project photos, for a better idea of what this might entail.
