Patchwork Block 10
These Overlay Mosaic designs are based loosely on well known Patchwork blocks and can be mixed and matched or used singularly to create a beautiful pillow, tote bag, throw, baby blanket or blanket. Overlay Mosaic designs will suit a beginner to intermediate crocheter.
Each block design provides you with written instructions, chart and examples of what a 9 patch blanket could look like with the repeat pattern in a red box, giving you the freedom to design your own interpretation of the blanket using a single block or the range of blocks. On the written pattern there are row tick boxes to help you keep track of where you are.
Each block has a finished size of 40cm square depending on yarn used. I have used DK for all samples as have my testers.
There is no fixed gauge as it will depend on yarn weight used. I have used DK yarn but you can use any yarn, just adjust your hook size.
Each block uses just under 50gm of each colour ( main & contrast) so this can be a great stash buster for those odd balls in your cupboard. If making placemats, I recommend using DK cotton yarn as it will hold the shape better and will show less wear.
If you would prefer to make a less weighty Afgan / throw or blanket, try finger weight yarn but remember you blocks will be smaller and you will need to use a smaller hook.
