It’s a cute knit tapestry that can be used as a wall hanging or an actual placemat (to use as a placemat, use cotton yarn or other machine washable fibre).

Patchwork placemat tapestry is knit flat in stockinette stitch with 3mm needles and fingering weight yarn using various colourwork knitting techniques. Once the piece is knit according to the chart, details are embroidered with a tapestry needle using duplicate stitch and simple embroidery. Lastly, borders are added with two rounds of single crochet around the piece.

Yarns used: 2-ply fingering weight, 100% wool (Rauma Garn Finull 175m/50g)
1 ball, Black (140)
1 ball, Red (424)
1 ball, Green (494)
1 ball, White (401)
1 ball, Pink (478)
1 ball, Grey purple (4135)
1 ball, Light blue (472)

Difficulty level: intermediate (knowledge of colourwork knitting techniques and some prior experience with colourwork is recommended, as the pattern will not provide detailed instructions on how to knit colourwork)

Familiarity with crochet is recommended as single crochet is used for the border.

Very basic embroidery skill is required.
