(ENG ➡️ / FRA ⬇️) The Paulista Socks are inspired by the iconic geometric sidewalk pattern that can be found around São Paulo. Several years ago, my Paulista (what you call someone from São Paulo) husband asked me to make him something with the pattern, and here it finally is!

The socks are knit cuff-down, featuring a funky geometric colorwork design on the leg and vertical colorwork stripes on the heel flap.

Yarn

MC: 100 g of fingering weight sock yarn
CC: 50 g of fingering weight sock yarn

There should be a good degree of contrast between the MC and CC. If you are not sure there is enough contrast, take a picture of both colors together in black and white.

The purple and beige pair was knit in CoopKnits - Socks Yeah!, colorways Radon and Quartz (211 meters/50 g, 75% Merino wool, 25% nylon). The gray pair was knit in La Bien Aimée - Merino Super Sock, colorway Totoro & Mei (212 meters/50 g, 75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon) and PRU Yarns – Soul, colorway Zen (400 meters/100 g, 85% superwash merino wool, 15% nylon).

However, any fingering-weight sock yarn should work.

(FRA) Les Chaussettes Paulista sont inspirées du motif géométrique emblématique des trottoirs de la ville de São Paulo. Il y a plusieurs années, mon mari Paulista (ce que l’on appelle quelqu’un de São Paulo en portugais) m’a demandé de lui faire quelque chose avec ce motif, et le voici enfin !

Les chaussettes sont tricotées de la tige vers la pointe, avec un motif géométrique en jacquard sur la tige et des rayures verticales en jacquard sur la bande de talon.

CP: 100 g de laine à chaussettes, épaisseur fingering
CC: 50 g de laine à chaussettes, épaisseur fingering

Il doit y avoir un bon niveau de contraste entre la CP et la CC. Si vous n’êtes pas sûr qu’il y a assez de contraste, prenez une photo des deux couleurs en noir et blanc.

La paire violette et beige a été tricotée en CoopKnits - Socks Yeah !, coloris Radon et Quartz (211 mètres/50 g, 75% mérinos, 25% nylon). La paire grise a été tricotée avec La Bien Aimée - Merino Super Sock, coloris Totoro & Mei (212 mètres/50g, 75 % laine mérinos superwash, 25 % nylon) et PRU Yarns – Soul, coloris Zen (400 meters/100 g, 85 % laine mérinos superwash, 15 % nylon).

Cependant, n’importe quel fil à chaussettes devrait faire l’affaire.
