Peace in Rest
About the Pattern
Peace in Rest one of the patterns from my Mini Mosaic Motifs - Halloween collection. It is created using the overlay mosaic crochet technique and is worked in rows. The pattern comes with additional documents designed to assist beginners to mosaic crochet and introduce more advanced techniques.
The pattern is ideal for crocheters at an advanced beginner to intermediate level who are fully comfortable with basic crochet stitches such as chains, US single crochet (UK double crochet), and US double crochet (UK treble crochet). Experience with mosaic crochet is an added bonus.
The pattern is repeatable, so you can create whatever size project you choose. I have crocheted 1 repeat only and it is the perfect size for a mug rug. You could make 2 and sewn together they would make an adorable phone holder! Or you could even go the whole hog and make an epic blanket - the choice is yours!
What is Included
- Chart (with Xs and counts marked)
- Full row-by-row written instructions
- Mosaic crochet technique compendium: Full description of the mosaic crochet technique and links to tutorials and technique videos that helped me to learn when I first started out.
The pattern is available in English only and includes two versions of the written instructions, one using US crochet terms and the other using UK crochet terms.
Materials
You can use any yarn and corresponding hook for this pattern and you will need at least 2 contrasting colours.
Remember that mosaic crochet benefits from a tight tension so if you are a loose crocheter it might be best to drop down half a hook size for this project.
If using Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4 with a 3mm hook like the project shown in this listing, you will need approximately 20g of yarn making it a perfect scrap project.
This will create a motif measuring approximately 10cm wide x 16cm tall (4” x 6.25”).
Since it takes 20g of yarn for one motif, for larger projects simply multiply the number of motifs by 20 and that is the amount of yarn you will need.
