Phoebe
Phoebe is one of the most versatile pieces of knitwear I own. She can be styled in countless ways, and always feels effortlessly elegant. Its wrap shape creates a flattering silhouette for a wide range of body types, making it a garment you’ll reach for time and time again.
Despite its polished appearance, Phoebe is a relaxing knit. The integrated double-knit trims are worked seamlessly as part of the garment, creating beautiful edges with minimal finishing required.
Timeless, versatile, and easy to wear, Phoebe is a piece you’ll treasure for years to come.
CONSTRUCTION
The Phoebe wrap sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. The double-knit trims are integrated into the fabric and worked at the same time as the body, so there’s no need to pick up stitches for finishing.
Construction begins at the back neck trim. From there, stitches are cast on for the shoulders, and stitches are picked up along the trim to work the back down to the underarm, with shaping for the shoulders and armholes along the way.
For the fronts, stitches are picked up from the back shoulders and worked down to the underarm, incorporating shaping for the shoulders, neckline, and armholes.
At the underarm, fronts and back are joined and worked in one piece to the hem, which is finished with a double-knit trim. A slit for the ties is worked into the right front as you go.
Finally, the ties are worked in double knitting to complete the sweater.
