I was in college when I learned how to knit, and after mastering the basics, I immediately jumped straight in over my head and designed and knit up the 9ft. progenitor of this pattern in worsted weight Wal-Mart acrylic on hand-me-down size 2 needles as my second ever project. After all, I needed a scarf.

The darnedest thing was, after I’d finished, other people wanted them made too! So I made more, though none quite as long as that first behemoth.

After a few more generations, the pattern has now become much more refined, and has been split out into two different scarves, this and the Fashionista Plaited Scarf, and now you too can impress friends and family with your knitting know-how! Or just have a bit of fun, whichever suits your fancy.

This cabled scarf comes out stunningly and can knit up fairly rapidly, given the length and size needles used, depending on your speed as a knitter. Not recommended for beginners/those unfamiliar with cabling.

This pattern is essentially a repetition of 24 rows, and can be made to any length desired. When you’re done, you’ll have a wonderfully thick, warm, and beautiful scarf, suitable for a night on the town or casual wear!
