Made with soft and fluffy wool DK yarn, these adorable ankle socks are perfect for keeping your feet warm in the colder months, as thick white clouds start to take over the sky. The top ribbing can be cuffed for a slipper-like look, with the plaited cable presenting a simple but elegant focal point. Recommended actives for these socks include reading, cuddling with pets, drinking hot beverages, and sitting by the fire.

Have I used the word “hygge” yet? Maybe I should use the word “hygge”.

Sizes
There are three sizes in the pattern, small (18cm foot circumference), medium (20cm foot circumference), and large (22.5cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.

The cable pattern may change your gauge. Checking gauge after blocking will be important to ensure a good fit.

Yarn and Yardage
The DK weight yarn recommended for this pattern is 100% wool, which will wear and tear differently than a wool and nylon blend. That being said, it’s very easy to sub in your favourite DK weight sock yarn if you prefer! Just double check that your gauge is correct beforehand, and you’ll be good to go.

Only one skein of yarn is needed for this pattern, about 140-240 yards, unless lengthening the ribbed cuff.

Notions
Needles (DPN’s or circulars), a cable needle, darning needle, stitch markers, and sock blockers or blocking pins.

Basic knowledge of cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction and cabling are needed for this pattern.
