Playa Top is a versatile summer top featuring a combination of Garter stitch, simple lace and twisted I-cord straps.
This top is worked top down, so it’s very easy to adjust the length to your preferences.
Playa top is perfect for both everyday wear and vacation outfits, it pairs beautifully with linen pants and shorts.

Playa top is worked top down and seamlessly.
First, you work back and front yokes separately back and forth in rows with built-in I-cord edges. Once both yokes are ready, the work is joined in the round and the body is continued working to desired length, finishing with an I-cord bind off. The last touches – two I-cord straps are picked up from every side of the top edge and work to desired length, twisted a couple times and grafted to another top edge.

Intended to be worn with 10 – 0 cm / 4 – 0’’ of negative ease already included in the bust circumferences;
Yoke depth – 18 (19, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23) cm / 7.0 (7.5, 7.5, 8.0, 8.25, 8.75, 9.0)’’;
Body length (from underarm to hem) – 24 cm/ 9.5’’;
Length of the body can be easily adjusted to desired length.
Samples shown on 87 cm / 34.25’’ bust, size S with 5 cm / 2.0’’ of negative ease.

Needles
Circular 3.5 mm (US 6) 80-100 cm (32-40)’’ long;
Dpns 3.5 mm (US 6) for I-cord bind-off and straps.
Notions: tapestry needle, 2 stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders.

Original yarn
Approx 4 (5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7) balls / 200 (250, 250, 250, 300, 300, 350) g of Egitto Titan Wool (100% cotton; 50g / 1.8oz – 127 m / 139 yds);
If you decide to make top longer, you will need more yarn than estimated.
Yardage: approx 500 (530, 570, 620, 670, 730, 800) m / 547 (580, 623, 678, 733, 798, 875) yds of similar dk weight yarn.
Suggested yarn: any DK weight yarn to obtain the required gauge.

Gauge
21 sts x 36 rows = 10 cm (4’’) in Garter stitch in the rnd and back and forth in rows after blocking.
