This design was inspired by my ‘knit look’ crocheted Brosnan Beanie pattern as well as my super textured Freyda Beanie pattern! I wanted a quick, simple and straight forward design with bunches of texture. It is my pleasure to introduce to you the Poppy Puffs Ear Warmer!

This is an Intermediate Beginner skill level pattern.

Double cables space evenly around the edges resulting in a striking finished result with amazing STRETCH and TEXTURE! Super pretty puffs takes center stage on the ear warmer creating fun detail and texture.

Do a quick read on Negative Ease as it is important for this pattern given how stretchy the ear warmer will be due to the fun stitch combos.

Worked from the bottom up - this ear warmer is easily adjusted for width and height sizing. The beginning of the ear warmer is done using a foundation double crochet as the starting round (with instructions to use a traditional chain if you choose - but it is not my recommended approach).

This pattern primarily uses measurements as guides versus stitch counts - a bonus for those of us who hate gauge checking. A stitch count for Adult Small is provided only as a way of assisting with the ear warmer construction.

Measurement starting points are provided for 1-5 years, 6-12 years, Adult Small and Large. It is encouraged that you have fun and play with different hook sizes and yarn weights to achieve the end result that works for you!

Variegated yarns look AMAZING with this pattern as does color blocking and striping. SO many ways to play with color with this design. Have fun and enjoy!!
