A flower hat to please any little girl. Two versions are provided. One has a seed stitch band and a plain crown embroidered with bullion stitch. The other has a slip stitch pattern band and a stripey crown with an I-cord swirl.
The beanie is knitted-in-the-round so you will need a 40cm/16 inch circular needle and a set of 4 dpns in same size.
Requires 4 or 5 different yarns depending on version used, each using less than 1, 50 gram ball.
Yarns for band are best if non-itchy such as wool blends or 8 ply baby wool. Petals should be wool as they require a certain amount of stiffness. Crown yarns can be wool or wool blends. Acrylics should also be OK.
There is some hand sewing required to neaten up sections as well as picking up and knitting stitches.
Written instructions are detailed with explanatory photos.
Included with the pattern is basic introduction to circular knitting as well as techniques and abbreviations used.
Gauge is 22 sts to 10cm or 5 1/2 sts to 1 inch over stockingstitch (stockingnette).
Lengths are given in metric and imperial units.
Large size requires approximately 230m/252 yards.
