Primrose Fingerless Gloves
The Primrose Fingerless Gloves are a cozy little staple you’ll want to wear all winter long. Made with a modified waffle stitch, they have a beautifully rich texture that looks impressive but is surprisingly simple to create. The pattern works up quickly, making it a relaxing project for beginners and seasoned crocheters alike. With three sizes (S, M, and L) plus easy customization options, you can whip up the perfect fit for yourself or as a thoughtful handmade gift. Cute, textured, and practical—these gloves check all the boxes.
This pattern is written for aran/worsted weight yarn with a 5mm hook, but it’s super flexible. Want to try it in DK, chunky, or even fingering yarn? Just add a few stitches or repeats to adjust the fit (keeping in the established pattern). Gauge isn’t too important here—the sizes are more of a guideline. As you work, you’ll be able to see if the glove will be long and wide enough for your hand.
The gloves are worked in a modified waffle stitch, which gives a beautiful, rich texture while keeping the edges neat. They’re made side to side and then seamed with a simple slip stitch. Since the stitch pattern is based on a multiple of 3 + 1, it’s easy to customize the length to suit you. Even better, these work up in just over an hour—perfect for gifts or a quick project to treat yourself.
This pattern includes sizes S, M, and L. My brown sample is a size L and my purple sample is a size M. The gloves are designed to fit snugly with negative ease, so they’ll look small at first but stretch to fit your hand comfortably. If you prefer a looser fit, simply size up or make your own custom adjustments. In the pattern, sizes are written as S, (M),(L).
Beginner-friendly and quick to make, the Primrose Fingerless Gloves are all about simple stitches, a soothing rhythm, and satisfying results. And if you’re new to crochet, don’t worry—step-by-step video tutorials are included for each special technique, so you’ll have support every step of the way.
