Faina Goberstein

Work in the round in a slip stitch pattern while the colors progress through a range. Faina Goberstein manipulates slip stitch knitting to create shifting shapes and to accommodate the internal structure of this shapely sweater.

Finished Size 32½ (34¼, 36, 37¾, 41¼, 44½)” bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 32½”, modeled with 1½” of negative ease.

Yarn Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% merino wool, 30% silk; 150 yd 137 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #SB3044 briar (MC), 4 (4, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins. Manos del Uruguay Clara (100% superwash merino wool; 385 yd 352 m/3½ oz 100 g): #C23 velvet (CC1), 2 skeins; #C18 Hortensia (CC2), 1 skein. Yarns distributed by Fairmount Fibers.

Needles Size 5 (3.75 mm): 24″ or longer circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 4 (3.5 mm): 24″ or longer cir, 16″ cir, and set of dpn. Size 3 (3.25 mm): 24″ or longer cir and 16″ cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
